Featuring bold reinterpretations of works such as “What I Say,” “Selim,” “Sivad,” and “Tutu,” the band celebrates the restless creativity and sonic innovation that transformed modern music.
About Alejandro Berti:
Alejandro Berti is a trumpet player, composer, and orchestrator based in New York City. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, he has lived in NYC for more than 15 years and is deeply rooted in the city’s jazz and Latin music scene. Over the years, he has performed and recorded with renowned artists including Rubén Blades, Oscar D’León, Omara Portuondo, Paquito D’Rivera, Arturo Sandoval, Charli Persip, Pedro Giraudo, and Reggie Workman, among others.
Recognized for his warm, resonant tone, Berti’s improvisations and compositions reflect his bicultural background, where Latin American rhythms meet the language of jazz. His artistry earned him a semi-finalist spot in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition, a testament to both his technical mastery and creative voice.
Carrying forward a lineage of musicians spanning four generations, Alejandro continues to expand and honor his family’s rich musical heritage.
