Angry Knit-In (in solidarity with DC!)

In solidarity with the fabric and craft event: Angry Knit-In Washington DC, join activist crafters in Jackson Heights, Queens to unravel the knots of patriarchy and tyranny by turning fiber arts into authoritarian resistance!
Bring your own project or we will have materials and instructions for embroidered patches, Melt The ICE hat pins, and (8-10) Melt The ICE hats (at cost $10). Let us know if you want to make a Melt the ICE hat.
If you would like to help volunteer at this event, email [email protected] to get involved.
Angry Knit-In DC is a nationwide fabric arts based craft event turning fiber arts into feminist resistance. Hundreds of crafters, artists, and activists will converge on the National Mall to weave, knit, crochet, and frog the fabric of democracy — unraveling the knots of patriarchy and authoritarianism so we can remake something better. Led by Daniella Mestyanek Young (known online as Knitting Cult Lady), an author, veteran, and movement organizer, the event reframes “women’s work” as revolutionary work. The frog, both costume and concept, has become the cheeky mascot of this uprising: we’re not burning it all down — we’re ripping it out and re-stitching it right.
Mission To unite women, crafters, and allies in a joyful, creative act of political repair. To show that the way forward isn’t denial or despair — it’s frogging what’s failed and crafting something new together. We will knot be unraveled by fascism! We will frog the system and start again.
