2:00-3:30pm New Style Hustle

Learn the basic foundation and patterns of New Style Hustle geared for raw beginners. Focusing on having fun while learning to dance in the streets!

Hustle instructor Robert Lois has been a club dancer since the late 80’s, partying at Studio 54, The Palladium, Roseland, Club 1018, SoundFactory, The Sullivan Room, Cielo, Santos Party House Soul in the Horn and many more, dancing to Disco, Latin Freestyle, Hiphop, and House. Since 2011 he has trained under the Creator of New Style Hustle Jeff Selby. An original member of the New Style Hustle demo team, Robert has performed and competed in many Hustle competitions. You can still find him in the clubs dancing and teaching this new generation of Hustle Dancers.

3:30-5:00pm Open Level Ballet with Billy Blanken

Blanken uses a mindful approach to ballet technique with a focus on body awareness, kinesthetic learning, musicality and movement dynamics. He nurtures specific ballet qualities including classicism, aplomb, and use of epaulement to create resilience suitable for recreational to professional dancers. The class is thorough but uncomplicated with emphasis on creating efficient movement patterns.

Billy Blanken founded Sheep Meadow Dance Theatre in 2016 as a medium for exploring movement through a socially-engaged dance practice. The project creates repertoire with an emphasis on classical ballet. HIs mission is to provide the highest quality in dance performance for all, regardless of economic background.
