About Gina Savino Duo:

Colombian singer Gina Savino and fellow Colombian pianist Holman Álvarez have collaborated for many years on multiple projects in various formats—duo, trio, quartet, and big band—and have performed at many festivals in Colombia and abroad. This time, the two musicians have assembled a quartet featuring two outstanding New York-based jazz artists: renowned bassist Sean Conly, who has played with Andrew Hill, Freddie Hubbard, and Kris Davis, among others, and the exceptional Nigerian drummer Chidiebere Emmanuel. The quartet will perform some of Gina’s original compositions, songs from Latin America, and jazz standards.

About Gina Savino:

is a Colombian vocalist with over 15 years of professional experience dedicated to the art of improvisational music and real-time creation. She studied at the Universität der Künste in Berlin and the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany.

In Colombia, she has performed at the country’s most prominent festivals and toured extensively through small towns and rural communities, bringing music to areas with limited cultural access. She has taught jazz voice at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and the Fernando Sor School, and currently leads workshops across more than 15 cities nationwide.

Internationally, she has represented Colombia at major cultural events through invitations from Colombian embassies around the world, performing in countries such as Russia, Japan, India, Latvia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Argentina, and the United States. Highlights include appearances at the Usadba Jazz Festival in Russia, concerts at Tokyo’s jazz clubs, and a faculty role at the Global Music Institute in New Delhi supported by Berklee College of Music.

She also participated in the Trieste Loves Jazz Festival in Italy, the Riga Jazz Festival in Latvia, and held residencies at Berlin’s renowned A-Trane jazz club. Winner of the 2008 National Vocal Jazz Competition by the Bogotá Philharmonic, her versatile style reflects a rich blend of cultural influences gathered through her global collaborations.
