About Jarana Beat:

Jarana Beat is a New York–based, flexible-format world-music collective led by composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sinuhé Padilla-Isunza. A double nominee at the 2020 Independent Music Awards and winner of the 2015 Mexican Music Award for Best Contemporary Folk Band, the group has been bringing the vibrant, often overlooked sounds of Mexico to international audiences since 2007.pennlivearts

Blending Mexican folk traditions with Afro-Indigenous and Afro-American influences, Jarana Beat creates an exuberant cross-cultural sound rooted in styles such as Son Jarocho, Son Guerrerense, and Son Huasteco.
