About the Group
Acclaimed Polish jazz artists Bogna Kicińska—praised for her “jaw-dropping vocal facility” (Rick Anderson, CD HotList)—and Kuba Cichocki, hailed by DownBeat as a “Polish piano marvel,” join forces to reimagine the music of their homeland through the language of contemporary jazz.
Joined by some of New York City’s most sought-after musicians, they draw from traditional Polish dances, folk melodies, and stories, transforming them through adventurous arrangements, intricate grooves, rich harmonies, and Kicińska’s virtuosic vocals. Moving between raw rhythmic energy and the intimacy of nostalgic, lullaby-like songs, the group creates a vivid dialogue between Polish musical roots and the contemporary New York jazz scene.
