About Rebolu:
Rebolu is a Queens-based Afro-Colombian ensemble led by vocalist, composer, and gaitero Ronald Polo, master folkloric percussionist Morris Cañate, and vocalist Johanna Castañeda. Drawing from the musical traditions of Colombia’s Afro-descendant Caribbean communities, the group brings ancestral rhythms into conversation with contemporary sounds and instrumentation. Through percussion, gaita, horns, vocals, and infectious grooves, Rebolu has developed a distinctive New York sound rooted in Colombian Caribbean musical traditions.
