Ricardo Sánchez, a celebrated flamenco guitarist from Guadalajara, Jalisco, is now a prominent figure in New York City’s dynamic music scene. He began exploring music at six and discovered flamenco at 13, embracing its ability to convey profound emotions through the guitar. Ricardo’s artistry reflects the teachings of esteemed mentors from Mexico, such as Adrián Juárez, Mauricio López, and Josué Tacorente, as well as Spain’s Juan Campallo and José Luis Medina.

Ricardo has mesmerized audiences across the Americas as a performer, composer, and musical director. He has collaborated with iconic artists like Juan Gabriel, Susana Harp, Marjorie de Sousa, and Mariana Seoane, creating compositions that honor flamenco’s rich heritage while incorporating elements from diverse musical styles. About Barbara Martinez:

Bárbara Martínez is a flamenco singer, dancer, and multidisciplinary artist whose career began at age eleven with the Children’s Chorus of the Metropolitan Opera. She is one of the few flamenco artists in the United States who performs regularly both as a singer and dancer, collaborating with leading companies such as Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, A Palo Seco Flamenco Company, Pasión y Arte, Sol y Sombra, EntreFlamenco, and Cava Flamenco Miami. Her work moves fluidly between traditional flamenco and cross-cultural projects that connect the art form with jazz, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Sephardic musical traditions.

She leads several original artistic projects, including a Latin jazz–flamenco collaboration that debuted with a sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall and the flamenco fusion ensemble ALBA MUSIK, created with Albert Alabedra. Her recent project Barbarella explores original songwriting in English and Spanish, while her solo dance-theater work TrashBata merges performance with environmental activism. Martínez comes from a lineage of celebrated artists and holds degrees from Brown University and Berklee College of Music. Praised by The New York Times and The Philadelphia Inquirer, she continues to perform internationally while also teaching music in New York.
