About Xianix Barrera:
Xianix Barrera is a Bessie Award–nominated flamenco dancer, choreographer, and educator whose work channels a fierce, unapologetic vision of femininity. Engaging themes of gender, queer identity, and social justice, she approaches flamenco as a living, evolving form.
Founder of the Xianix Barrera Flamenco Company (2012), her choreography expands the language of flamenco while remaining grounded in its tradition. Her recent production Mujeres, an all-female collaboration with guitarist and composer Antonia Jiménez, reflects her commitment to re-centering female voices.
Trained in New York and Spain, she has performed alongside leading artists such as Isabel Bayón and Juan Ogalla at venues including The Joyce Theater and Lincoln Center. A Bessie Award nominee for Latido, Xianix is also a dedicated educator, leading workshops across New York City and contributing to the next generation of artists.
About Jed Miley :
Jed Miley is a Seattle-based Flamenco guitarist, composer, producer, and teacher. After hearing Flamenco for the first time in 1996 he was hooked and began a lifelong journey to study this artform. Over the course of his career, he has since performed at top venues like Lincoln Center and collaborated worked with notable Flamenco companies including Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, and currently, Oleaje Flamenco. Jed’s in-depth training in Seville and his love for Flamenco fusion have spurred various projects that blend Flamenco with other music styles. He continues to share his craft through performances across the Northwest.
About Alfonso Mogaburo Cid:
Alfonso Cid is a flamenco singer, flutist, and composer from Seville, raised in the deep traditions of Andalusian flamenco. Formed within the cultural life of Triana and the historic Peña Flamenca Torres-Macarena, his artistry reflects a direct lineage to some of the most revered figures of the form.
Based in New York City since 1997, Alfonso has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall, Lincoln Center, Town Hall, and the Royal Albert Hall, collaborating with leading dancers such as Pilar Rioja and María Elena Amaya. His work moves fluidly between traditional flamenco and cross-cultural exploration, including projects that engage the Arabic roots of flamenco.
His career spans both intimate flamenco settings and large-scale international stages, including extensive touring with Romeo Santos, where he contributed vocals to the track Mi Santa alongside Tomatito.
A dedicated educator and scholar of flamenco, Alfonso has taught widely across New York, developed lecture-demonstrations on flamenco structure, and completed advanced studies in flamencology at the Universidad de Córdoba. His work continues to bridge tradition, research, and contemporary performance.
