In Festejation\, a crack crew of New York regulars hailing from countries up and down the American continent pay homage to this tradition\, each adding their accented voice and a dose of urban chic. Blending the talents of the group\, director Edward Pérez (co-director of the Grammy-nominated Terraza Big Band and Silkroad artist) crafts novel arrangements in which festejo is treated at once as high art and also as a comfortable-as-denim dance style that anyone can get rowdy to with a pisco sour in hand.

A native of Argentina and long based in New York\, Giraudo has become an active cultural ambassador of tango\, expanding its language while honoring its deep tradition. \nAfter two decades performing with some of the most important interpreters of tango\, he debuted his own Tango Orchestra at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing in 2015\, establishing himself as a leading figure in the global tango scene. His 2018 album Vigor Tanguero won the Latin GRAMMY Award for Best Tango Album. In 2014\, he recorded bass on Rubén Blades’ Tangos\, which won both a Grammy and a Latin Grammy. \nGiraudo has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists\, including Pablo Ziegler\, Paquito D’Rivera\, Branford Marsalis\, Kenny Garrett\, Regina Carter\, Miguel Zenón\, and William Cepeda\, among many others. He has also worked with orchestras such as OSESP and Jazz Sinfônica de SP. \nHe has a master’s degree from ECA/USP\, where he wrote the work “Helio Delmiro – Compositions for Guitar Solo”\, winner of PROAC 2015 in the instrumental music category. \nHe has been participating in various Brazilian instrumental music authorial works with musicians such as Daniel de Paula\, Guilherme Ribeiro\, Rafael Abdalla and Alexandre Silverio\, besides being one of the leaders of the group KVAR. \nHe has performed in festivals such as: Festival Internacional de Jazz de Buenos Aires (ARG)\, Festival de Jazz do Capão (Chapada Diamantina – BA)\, Jazz a La Calle (Mercedes – Uruguay)\, Bourbon Street Festival (Paraty – RJ)\, FIMUPA (Belém – PA) Festival de Jazz de La Plata (ARG)\, Festival de Garanhuns (PE)\, SESC Jazz & Blues (SP). He has also performed in Finland\, Sweden and Colombia. \n \nAbout Gili Lopes: \nGili Lopes is a Brazilian bassist\, composer\, and musical director based in New York\, recognized as one of the most singular voices in contemporary jazz with Latin American roots. \nBorn in 1983 in Porto Alegre\, Brazil\, he began teaching himself bass at age 14. He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London\, then at the Jazz Institute Berlin\, where he earned a master’s degree in composition and arranging. \nHe has performed in more than 35 countries\, on stages including Ronnie Scott’s\, Jazz at Lincoln Center\, and the Seoul Jazz Festival\, sharing the stage with artists like Paquito D’Rivera\, Toninho Horta\, and Marcos Valle. \nIn 2024 he released Algures\, his debut as a bandleader\, recorded with John Ellis and Ari Hoenig\, named one of the best jazz albums of the year by Downbeat. He remains active in New York and tours internationally with his quartet.

Led by artist instructors from different cultural & art backgrounds: fine art\, self-taught\, master crafters\, & more. We are experienced in holding classes for neurodiverse students and strive to cultivate a feeling of comfort\, safety & celebration for all students and their creations. \nAll young artists learn in different ways\, & we make room for them to explore in a way that makes sense to them while providing a structure to the learning process. \nClass is for 6-13 yrs. 4 and 5 year olds can attend our 9am session with adult guidance. \nThis is the 9AM Class!
