The group will navigate Justin’s originals and arrangements coming from many different musical backgrounds\, including improvisation\, the avant-garde\, jazz\, and folkloric forms from around the world.” \nAbout Justin Purtill: \nJustin Purtill is a drummer\, composer\, and singer-songwriter whose work spans jazz\, rock\, and global music traditions. He has performed and recorded with Esperanza Spalding\, Amy Winehouse\, Residente\, Hassan Hakmoun\, Gary Burton\, George Garzone\, and Thomas Pridgen\, among many others. \nAs a member of Residente’s band from 2017 to 2025\, he headlined festivals across the US\, Europe\, and Latin America\, including the 2017 Latin Grammys\, Austin City Limits\, Radio City Music Hall\, and two performances at the Zocalo in Mexico City for over 200\,000 people. In 2021 he co-composed the soundtrack for the Emmy Award-winning HBO documentary Life of Crime\, 1984–2020. \nHe has released eleven albums of improvisational singer-songwriter music\, most recently on 577 Records.

You can register for an in-person meeting or a Zoom meeting. \nWorking in pairs\, we meet owners\, managers\, and employees at their work sites to share information on ways we can prepare now for ICE raids\, what to do if ICE comes\, what to do in case of detentions\, and where to find additional resources. \nWe supply multilingual materials for employers and employees\, and scripts for volunteers. We begin with a 30-minute training session for volunteers who have not done this work before. \nThis action is rooted in principles of cooperation\, empathy\, and collective action. Effective community care involves building networks of mutual support and empowering ourselves (community members!!) to meet our collective needs.

Set in the FTH gallery\, we will stream the final program highlights over light refreshments. If you want to join us but aren’t yet a member\, you can become a member today for as little as $50! For nonprofits like FTH\, our fiscal year closes June 30\, which means June 16 is the perfect moment to come together and help us start our next chapter strong. Within a month\, we were offering online programs for educators\, children\, and families near and far. Even after the world reopened\, we knew that not everyone could make every presentation. We took the lessons from lockdown and launched Culture Stream\, where people can watch live performances and catch up on past shows for a small fee. Culture Stream has allowed us to bring our stage into homes\, schools\, and offices\, and to branch out across the world—we have reached all continents except Antarctica.
