SUMMARY:Archive of Unknown Universes Paperback Launch with Ruben Reyes Jr.
DESCRIPTION:Join Ruben Reyes Jr. launching the paperback of Archive of Unknown Universes and enjoy creating your own postcard to commemorate the event! \nCambridge\, 2018. Ana and Luis’s relationship is on the rocks\, despite their many similarities\, including their mothers who both fled El Salvador during the war. In her search for answers\, and against her best judgement\, Ana uses The Defractor\, an experimental device that allows users to peek into alternate versions of their lives. What she sees leads her and Luis on a quest through Havana and San Salvador to uncover the family histories they are desperate to know\, eager to learn if what might have been could fix what is. \nHavana\, 1978. The Salvadoran war is brewing\, and Neto\, a young revolutionary with a knack for forging government papers\, meets Rafael at a meeting for the People’s Revolutionary Army. The two form an intense and forbidden love\, shedding their fake names and revealing themselves to each other inside the covert world of their activism. When their work separates them\, they begin to exchange weekly letters\, but soon\, as the devastating war rages on\, forces beyond their control threaten to pull them apart forever. \nRuben Reyes Jr. is the son of two Salvadoran immigrants. He completed his MFA in fiction at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. \nHe is a graduate of Harvard College where he studied History and Literature and Latinx Studies. His writing has appeared in The New York Times\, The Boston Globe\, The Washington Post\, AGNI\, BOMB Magazine\, Lightspeed Magazine\, LitHub\, and other publications. In 2026\, he was named a Forbes 30 under 30. \nHis debut story collection\, There is a Rio Grande in Heaven\, was a finalist for The Story Prize\, and longlisted for the the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction\, the Carnegie Medal for Excellence\, the Aspen Words Literary Prize\, and the New American Voices Award. Archive of Unknown Universes is his first novel. Originally from Southern California\, he lives in Queens.

SUMMARY:The Street Is Ours: 25 Years of Terraza 7
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, we celebrate 25 years of Terraza 7 — one of New York City’s most vital cultural spaces — right on the block where it all began. \nImmigrants built this city and this nation through their labor\, their culture\, their art\, and a voice that grows louder every day. For 25 years\, Terraza 7 has been proof of that. \nAcoustic Memories and Terraza 7 thank our partners DOT Open Streets\, LiberArte\, and Action Lab\, and our elected officials: Borough President Donovan Richards Jr.\, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\, State Senator Jessica Ramos\, Assembly Members Jessica González-Rojas and Catalina Cruz\, and NYC Council Member Shekar Krishnan.
