SUMMARY:César Orozco & SonAhead — Grammy Award–Winning Cuban Timba
DESCRIPTION:César Orozco & SonAhead\, winners of the Latin Grammy for Best Arrangement with their song “Camaleón\,” deliver a powerful set of Cuban Timba infused with Cuban son\, modern jazz\, and electronic elements—honoring Orozco’s Cuban heritage and his musical journey through Venezuela and the U.S. \n8:00 pm to 9:00 pm(First Set) \n10:00 pm to 11:00 pm(Second Set) \nAdmission: $20 cover charge (Mezzanine) \nFeaturing:\nIván Llanes / Drums & Timbales\nMauricio Herrera / Congas; Backing Vocals\nJorge Bringas / Bass; Backing Vocals\nJan Kus / Tenor Saxophone\nJesús Ricardo / Trumpet\nGiovanni Siveroni / Trumpet\nManuel Carro / Percussion; Backing Vocals\nCesar Orozco / Piano; Lead Vocals; Arrangements and Compositions \nAbout Cesar Orozco & SonAhead: \nCesar Orozco & SonAhead is the latest project from Cuban-Venezuelan pianist\, composer\, arranger\, violinist\, educator\, and now vocalist\, Cesar Orozco. In addition to his work on piano\, arrangements\, and compositions\, Orozco takes center stage as the lead vocalist\, marking an exciting new chapter in his career. He was awarded the Latin Grammy in the category Best Arrangement for the composition “Camaleón” by his band SonAhead. Wikipedia+2CiberCuba+2 \nThe name “SonAhead” reflects its essence: a fusion of Cuban son — a foundational genre that shaped what we now recognize as salsa — infused with elements of modern jazz\, electronic music\, and Cuban timba\, a vibrant style that emerged in the 1990s and has deeply influenced Orozco since his teenage years. Listeners will find echoes of legendary timba groups like NG La Banda\, El Médico de la Salsa\, and Isaac Delgado woven into the music of SonAhead. \nWhile stepping into the role of lead vocalist may seem novel to those who have followed Orozco’s career as a pianist over the past two decades\, it’s not his first venture into this territory. During his studies at the National School of Arts (ENA) in Cuba\, he formed his own band\, serving as bandleader\, arranger\, composer\, and vocalist. \nAfter graduating from ENA\, Orozco moved to Venezuela\, immersing himself in a new cultural landscape that allowed him to explore the beautiful music and culture of Venezuela. Now\, after spending 14 years in Venezuela and 12 years in the United States\, and with the distinction of winning the Latin Grammy for Best Arrangement\, he returns to his Cuban musical heritage with SonAhead — enriched by the diverse influences\, recognitions\, and experiences gathered along his remarkable journey.

SUMMARY:Eric Stern’s Cuban Jazz Project
DESCRIPTION:A vibrant fusion of Cuban timba and American jazz\, this trio blends infectious dance rhythms with bold improvisation and harmonic depth\, creating a fresh sound that honors both traditions while pushing them forward. \n7:30 pm to 8:30(First Set) \n9:30 pm to 10:30(Second Set) \nAdmission: $20 Cover Charge for Mezzanine \nFeaturing: \n\n\nEric Stern – Piano \n\n\nGeorge Greenhill  – Drums \n\n\nJohn Benitez – Bass \n\n\nAbout: Eric Stern’s Cuban Jazz Project: \nIt is a new trio. Eric plays a variety of genres of music\, including latin jazz with John Benitez\, salsa with Carabali\, modern jazz with Noah Myers’ Sonder\, hip-hop with Good Lives Crew\, and straight-ahead jazz with a myriad of young artists. Eric’s ability to blend these influences seamlessly into any performance\, while staying authentic to each genre\, has allowed Eric to quickly establish himself as a rising star in the NYC music scene.
