SUMMARY:Las Guaracheras | Salsa
DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss Las Guaracheras\, an all-female salsa sextet from Cali\, Colombia\, blending traditional salsa with modern rhythms. Enjoy vibrant Latin grooves\, powerful percussion\, and dynamic improvisation in an electrifying performance! \n7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (First Set) \n9:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Second Set) \nAdmission: $25 cover charge (Mezzanine) \nFeaturing: \n\n\nDiana Sánchez / Vocals \n\n\nDaniela Vergara / Bass \n\n\nMary Riascos / Timbales \n\n\nDaniela Rivera / Piano \n\n\nKate Ortega / Vibraphone \n\n\nLaura Linares / Congas and Musical Direction \n\n\nAbout Las Guaracheras: \nLas Guaracheras is a powerful all-women Latin music sextet formed in Cali\, Colombia\, in 2017. Rooted in salsa and Afro-Caribbean rhythms\, their music also draws from the traditions of Colombia’s Pacific region\, creating a vibrant sound shaped by percussion\, collective energy\, and the musical heritage of the African diaspora. \nAt the heart of Las Guaracheras’ work is a strong commitment to the visibility and empowerment of women in Latin music. Through their original compositions and lyrics\, they celebrate female strength\, resilience\, and solidarity while challenging the historically male-dominated spaces of the salsa and Latin music industries. \nLas Guaracheras were selected as 2024–25 Mid Atlantic Arts Performing Arts Global Exchange artists and have brought their music and bilingual educational programs to audiences across the United States. \nFor their Fall 2026 U.S. Tour\, Las Guaracheras are giving their performances an additional purpose: using music as a vehicle for solidarity with communities in Colombia affected by a recent tragedy. Through concerts\, workshops\, and educational activities\, the ensemble seeks to transform collective pain into connection and support\, reaffirming a principle that has been central to their work from the beginning—the power of music to bring communities together.

SUMMARY:Play Dungeons & Dragons @ The Queensboro
DESCRIPTION:Visit the Queensboro restaurant for a fun Wednesday night of D&D with fellow adventurers!\n\n\nFor our next campaign season\, we are leaving the high-fantasy lands behind and stepping into the shadows. \nWe are officially launching Curse of Strahd\, taking our Wednesday nights deep into the gothic horror setting of Ravenloft. \nThis season is going to feel a bit different. The tone is darker\, the stakes are higher\, and survival isn’t guaranteed. You will be dealing with gothic horrors\, dark magic\, and the vampire lord Strahd von Zarovich himself. \nAs always\, our DMs from Berling’s Beard are ready to challenge us with an incredible\, shared narrative where our collective choices will shape the fate of Barovia. \nWe are keeping our standard format at The Queensboro: \n\nThe Schedule: Two consecutive 2-hour sessions each night.\nGear: We still have all the character sheets\, minis\, and dice ready\, but definitely bring your favorite lucky sets for this campaign—you are going to need them.\n\nCampaign vs. Drop-In Seats \nSince this is a cohesive\, highly narrative campaign\, regular attendance will give you the best experience\, but we have options for everyone: \n\nCampaign Tickets (7-Session Arc): This is the best way to experience Curse of Strahd. You will get the full\, ongoing story\, consistent character progression\, and a locked-in seat to watch your hero grow (or fight to survive).\nDrop-In Tickets: If your schedule is chaotic this fall\, you can still grab drop-in seats for self-contained side quests within the mists.\n\nSee you Wednesdays at the Queensboro as we roll for initiative!

SUMMARY:Eric Stern’s Cuban Jazz Project
DESCRIPTION:A vibrant fusion of Cuban timba and American jazz\, this trio blends infectious dance rhythms with bold improvisation and harmonic depth\, creating a fresh sound that honors both traditions while pushing them forward. \n7:30 pm to 8:30 (First Set) \n 9:30 pm to 10:30(Second Set) \nAdmission: $20 Cover Charge for Mezzanine \nFeaturing: \n\n\nEric Stern – Piano \n\n\nGeorge Greenhill  – Drums \n\n\nJohn Benitez – Bass \n\n\nAbout: Eric Stern’s Cuban Jazz Project: \nIt is a new trio. The project aims to seamlessly blend two genres of music – Cuban timba\, the cuban dance music of Elito Reve\, Alex Abreu\, Los Van Van\, and others\, and American jazz\, which Eric grew up with in Brooklyn – the music of Thelonious Monk\, Charlie Parker\, Bud Powell\, and the great American Songbook. By incorporating jazz improvisation and harmonic innovation into the format of a standard cuban timba band\, never losing danceability or rhythmic sensibility\, the project blends both timba and jazz into one music\, honoring both traditions while moving the music forward\, together. \nAbout Eric Stern: \nEric Stern is a pianist and composer based in New York City. Eric plays a variety of genres of music\, including latin jazz with John Benitez\, salsa with Carabali\, modern jazz with Noah Myers’ Sonder\, hip-hop with Good Lives Crew\, and straight-ahead jazz with a myriad of young artists. Eric’s ability to blend these influences seamlessly into any performance\, while staying authentic to each genre\, has allowed Eric to quickly establish himself as a rising star in the NYC music scene.
